Junior Group     –  9:00 to 9:45

Middle Group     – 9:45 to 10:30

Senior Group     – 10:30 to 11:15

• Children may dress up as waiters (or a pretty dress) – even the boys enjoy looking very smart in a bowtie and shirt.

Remember, a waitress spends long hours on her feet –

so: girls, don’t wear your high heels…

Please send your child with their normal backpacks and

lunch boxes.  (It is a long time to wait especially for the

older children.)

• The children may go home with you afterwards, but there will be supervision if they have to stay.

• Your child will be your waiter.  You are welcome to tip your waiter – “tip box” on big table.
• Sorry, no additional tickets can be bought at the gate.

Is this your first Spring Tea? 

Children come to school at their normal time.

Everything takes place in the front garden.

Parents come to school at the time given for the child’s class.

(If you have children in different classes, rather come in the younger child’s timeslot.)

Please wait just at the gate.  Your child will come and fetch you.

When you see your child coming to you, please come inside – they have a little gift for you.  (All children will be in the Junior Class waiting for the parents.)

Please find a place at one of the tables.  (Older children will show you where to sit.)

Your child will serve you.

When you are ready to leave, your child can fetch a sweetie from the Junior Class.

You are welcome to take your little one home with you.

The time is finally here!  The garden is adorned in a colourful spring costume.  Please come and enjoy this wonderful time of rejuvenation with us.

Enclosed are two Tickets to our annual Spring Tea on

Thursday, 2 October 2014.  Come and enjoy the garden and be waited on by your own special waiter!

We kindly request that you forward the money for the tickets to your child’s teacher by Monday, 29 September. 

Additional tickets may also be purchased from the class teachers. 

Please come, even if it is for a few short minutes.  It is moments you will treasure forever.

Tuck:

• ·     Please remember that the children wear their Stepping Stones T-shirts on Fridays.
• ·     Everyone has 3 tuck turns.  (Please see Tuck list.)
• ·     One of your Tuck turns is a R50 cash donation for Spring Tea.  (This does not cover the tickets.)

Annual Braai:

We are planning our annual braai for the children on 23 September.

Each child must bring 1 piece of wors, 1 buttered bun, 1 piece of braai wood and own water or juice.

More details will follow.

This is the beginning of another busy term.  We are already beginning to experiencing cooler mornings.  Please make sure you mark all you children’s winter school clothes: scarves, jackets, gloves, etc.

Please note that the school will be closed on the following days:

•      Easter Weekend  (18 – 21 April)
•     Freedom day, school holiday and Worker’s Day  (28 April – 2 May)

If you are traveling on our roads during this time, please drive safely.

Fundraising

Stepping Stones Golf Day – 17 May 2014                             

Our annual Stepping Stones Golf Day will be on 17 May 2014.  Please help us to get sponsors and donations for this event.

We wish to welcome our “new parents” to Stepping Stones. I know you are going to grow to love Stepping Stones as we all do.

Most of the children have settled down into their new school routine.  Even the few early morning tears soon dissolve into a happy smile.
Please try to bring the children to school everyday, as this is the best way to settle them into their new routine.

Staffing

We welcome back Mrs. Maryna Thomas and Mrs. Liz-Anne Seaward, as well as our non teaching staff: vivian, Poppie and Sina after a well deserved rest.

A few date to diarise

•  12 February 2014 – Annual General Meeting at 18:00 at Stepping Stones
•  14 February 2014 – Grandparents Valentine’s Day – please see attached letter.

Stepping Stones T-Shirts.

We have very good quality Stepping Stones T-Shirts for sale @ R60.
Children must please wear the T-Shirts on Fridays.

Advertising Boards.

We have a few spaces available for advertising boards on our front wall.  The price is R700 for both the manufacturing and rent for the first year.  After which it will be R400 annually.

Recycling.

We al know how important recycling is.  Help us teach the children to look after our planet.  You can bring your boxes etc. to school (please see yellow letter attached).  the school also use this not only as a way of teaching the children the importance of recycling, but also as a fundraising effort.
